Today's driving tips.
They apply to EVERYONE.
If your are pulled over by a law enforcement agent.....
1) Do NOT panic.
2) Park on the RIGHT side of the road, out of traffic.
3) Activate hazard lights.
4) Open all the windows (for officers to see inside).
5) If it is night - turn on the interior light.
6) Driver - place BOTH hands on the TOP of the steering wheel.
7) Passengers - place BOTH hands on your knees.
8 ) Wait for authorities to approach the vehicle to ask questions.
9) Do NOT reach for ID or other items until instructed.
10) Do NOT get hysterical, yell, scream, cry, etc., it will not help your situation.
11) Follow ALL instructions given by the officers.
12) Provide brief and accurate responses to the questions.
13) You are not required to provide additional info that is not relevant to the pull-over, such as "Where are you going?", "Where have you been?", etc.
Why the list?
On-duty law enforcement agents are on high-alert status. by following these simple guidelines, it can release some tension.
I learned this from a peep who went through officer training.
